Welcome to the Irish Pain Nurses and Midwives Website
The Irish Pain Nurses and Midwives Society (IPNMS) is a specialised professional organisation of practicing Nurses, Midwives, Clinical Scientists and others.
The IPNMS is committed to promoting the understanding, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of pain by supporting activities such as professional practice, education, research, advocacy and networking.
It seeks to provide a collective voice in order to increase knowledge of pain and transform public policy and professional clinical practice to reduce pain and suffering.
We hope that this website will be of intererst to a wide variety of people such as:
- nurses, midwives and all healthcare professionals with an interest in pain management
- patients who wish to become more informed about their pain and how to manage it
- the general public to provide greater knowledge of pain and increased understanding of living with pain
